Course conditions 9/4/18

I hope that everyone has enjoyed the golf courses this season as much as we have had in preparing them for our members and guests. This year we have certainly had our peaks and valleys with regard to the weather and these recent hot temperatures in September are no different. Last Wednesday (8.29.18), we experienced a severe thunderstorm that dropped over 2" of rain in 90 minutes. This fast moving storm caused mild debris, washed down the sand in most bunkers, and flooded #7 green on Devlin(pictures included). We had staff on property during this storm to monitor and mitigate the damages. Most of the cleanup was completed within 48 after the storm and we were able to allow carts off of the paths after only one day. We have assembled quite a crew in this department and they take great pride in the presentation of our club. I hope to see you all out on the courses. Best wishes, Jeff Austin Director of Golf Course Maintanance Quail Hollow Country Club
