Good morning,

We will remain with carts off paths on both courses today.  We have received a trace amount of precipitation overnight into this morning.  We do have more rain expected this morning.  As is always the case, if the cart path rule needs altered,  we will communicate with the pro shop and updates on the blog. 

The range will remain closed. However, the practice greens at the clubhouse and cart barn remain open.

The weather for today calls for rain this morning with clearing later in the day with highs in the low 50's dropping throughout the day into the upper 20's overnight with snow showers.  

The upcoming Easter weekend weather looks like this:

Thursday - High temperature 30/low 25 cloudy with winds 15-25mph with occasional higher gusts of 40+

Friday - High temperature 38/low 29 mostly sunny winds 10-20mph

(With the above temperatures forecasted the courses will be closed to play.  There will be a delay in play on Saturday morning.)

Saturday - High temperature 55/low 42 mostly cloudy skies winds 10-20mph

Sunday - High temperature 55/low 38 mostly sunny skies winds 5-10mph

Just a reminder that the Weiskopf course will be closed Monday April 5-Friday April 9 (reopening on Saturday April 10) for our spring aerification.

Once we get past the frost on Saturday morning, we should have a great weekend for golf.

There will not be a delay in play this morning as temperatures over night stayed in the 40s.  We have dried down enough to allow carts off of paths, however we do ask that golfers stay on paths on ALL par 3s and #6 on the Weiskopf Course.  As a reminder; please do not drive next to tee boxes or greens.

Today's forecast calls for sunny to partly cloudy skies, temperatures in the upper 60s, and winds out of the south at 15-25 mph, gusts could reach over 40 mph.  Later today there is an increased possibility of precipitation.

We will allow play to begin at 11am on the Weiskopf Course.  We will be forced to restrict carts to path only due to the .3" of precipitation that we received yesterday. 

The driving range will remain closed today.

The range remains closed, while the practice greens are available at the cart barn and the clubhouse.

The weather calls for spotty rain showers throughout the morning with high temperatures in the low 50's.  The temperatures will be dropping throughout the day with high winds moving in this afternoon.  Those winds could reach 25-35mph.

UPDATE (825am) We will be forced to resrict carts to paths for the remainder of the day. We received .1” of rain in the last hour.  Good morning, We will have no delay in play this morning.  We did receive .1" of rain yesterday morning.  The Weiskopf course will be carts off paths crossing at 90 degrees.  Please use caution as there are wet spots throughout the course.  The Devlin course will be open for walking to the regulation greens.

The range will remain closed.  However, the practice greens remain open at the clubhouse and the cart barn.

The weather calls for highs in the mid 60's with partly cloudy skies and calm winds.  There will be rain moving in overnight into tomorrow with winds picking back up to 20-30mph though the day on Sunday.

Course Conditions (3.26.2021) UPDATE

We will allow walkers on the Devlin Course beginning at 3pm.

Last evening we received .2" of precipitation however we have and are experiencing high and damaging winds.  We ask that golf be closed due to safety concerns, in accordance with the National Weather Service: "People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches."

This High Wind Warning expires at 3pm today, we will reassess than.

The weather calls for highs in the upper 60's with partly cloudy skies and light winds.  However, there will be rain moving in this evening in which there is a High Wind Watch for overnight into tomorrow morning (2am to 2pm Friday) where southwest winds will be sustained 25-35mph with gusts 60mph+.

The weather calls for high temperatures to reach the upper 60's with southerly winds 10-15mph.  There is a possibility of a passing shower this morning followed by partly cloudy skies this afternoon.

We will continue to allow play off of the Weiskopf Course this morning without delay, carts can cross at 90 degrees.  We do ask that carts remain on paths around greens and tees.  We will continue to work on our spring cleanup throughout the property.

There will not be a delay in play this morning as our nighttime temperatures stayed in the 40s.  We will allow play on the Weiskopf Course today and will allow carts to cross at 90 degrees.  We ask that all traffic remain on cart paths around greens and tees.

    We will allow golf at 9:30am on the Weiskopf course with carts crossing at 90 degrees (NO carts on #6 and all par 3's), Devlin (walking only) will be open with golf only to the temporaries in the approaches (1,2,3,4,5,6,9,17,18) as we have aerified the greens.

The range will remain closed at this time.

Course Conditions (3.20.2021) UPDATE

We will allow play on the Weiskopf Course beginning at 11:30am, we ask that carts remain on paths to eliminate the risk of root shearing.

Course Conditions (3.19.2021)

We are currently experiencing freezing temperatures that will force us to keep the courses closed throughout the day.  Temperatures will max out at roughly 38 degrees today, we will likely have a delay tomorrow and Sunday morning due to frost.

Today's forecast calls for sunny skies, temps in the upper 30s, , and winds out of the east at 10-15 mph.

Good morning, We will be carts on paths today with the rainfall we have received (.1) and the rain expected for the rest of the day. The Weiskopf course will be open for play. The range will remain closed. The weather for today calls for upwards of .5" of rain with a wind advisory going into effect at 12pm lasting through tomorrow morning at 4am. The temperature for the day calls for highs to remain in the low 40's and dropping throughout the day into the low 30's tonight. Good morning, We will allow golf at 11am on Weiskopf with carts crossing at 90 degrees. Please no carts on #6 and all par 3’s. Please keep traffic in the fairways.  The weather calls for high temperatures in the mid 50’s and abundant sunshine in the early part of day. We have experienced another round of frozen turf over the past 3 days and will be forced to keep the courses closed to begin the day.  

There is a chance that we will allow walkers on the Devlin Course during the afternoon to play to the temporary greens.

As anticipated, we did experience another round of frozen turf with the temperatures over the past 2-3 days.  We will continue to monitor the conditions over the next days and update this site and the pro shop staff of changes.

Course Conditions (3.12.2021)

We will allow play on the Weiskopf Course beginning at 11am, carts should remain on paths as we continue to work through frozen turf.  We are continuing with our spring aerification on the Devlin Course.

Our nighttime temperature tonight is forecasted to drop into the 20s, we will continue to monitor the weather and make a decision on the availability to open either later today or first thing in the morning.

Course Conditions (3.11.2021)

We will again allow golf on the Weiskopf Course today as we continue to perform our spring aerification on the Devlin Course.  We do ask that golfers keep carts on paths, the reason being that there is still frozen soil beneath the surface and we can experience root shearing with cart traffic.  As a reminder we do ask that the divot bottles are only used on tees and fairways.  

We remind members that the practice range is closed.

Today's forecast calls for cloudy with rain developing this afternoon, temps in the low/mid 60s, winds out of the southwest at 15-25 mph, gusts up to 40 mph, rainfall could reach .25".

We will allow play on the Weiskopf Course this morning beginning at 9am.  Carts will be made available and we ask that all traffic remain on paths.  We will continue to monitor conditions and make changes if/when appropriate.  

The driving range will remain closed until further notice.

Today's forecast calls for temperatures in the low/mid 60s, cloudy skies throughout the day, winds out of the south at 10-20 mph.  There is a high likelihood of rain beginning tomorrow late morning and continuing through the day.

*There are trash receptacles on the Weiskopf Course as well as in the water stations.  As a health precaution, we do not have water coolers on the course.

*Sand bottles are on carts and we ask that members use the divot mix on tees and fairways only, please do not use in the rough.

Course Conditions (3.9.2021) UPDATE

UPDATE 10am

We will allow golf to the Devlin Course temporary greens beginning at 10am, the Weiskopf Course greens are still experiencing a bit of frozen turf and are hoping to open those greens to golf around 1pm.  We will update that time as temperatures rise.  The driving range will remain closed.

We are experiencing a wide variety of frozen turf this morning on the Weiskopf Course.  We have frozen greens at depths of 1"-3", we are hopeful that forecasted temps will help us out with this situation.

As anticipated we have refrozen over the past 4-5 days.  We are still on pace to allow golf towards mid-week with the wide range of temperatures that we will experience beginning later today.

Upcoming Forecast

Spring is around the corner!

We are monitoring the weather forecast for next week which may consist of daytime temperatures in the upper 50s.  These temps will surely interest members who want to knock off some of the winter rust, with that being said; we have to get through the next 5 days in which the high temperature will only be 33 degrees and nighttime lows in the 20s.  We will experience frozen turf.  I am hopeful that we may burn through that frozen layer on Monday and Tuesday and will possibly get golf out on the Weiskopf Course on Wednesday.  This is nearly a week away and a lot of conditions can change, the above situation is considered ideal.

UPDATES:

We are nearly halfway done with the repairs to the culvert repairs on #s 4 & 6 on the Weiskopf Course.  We will be finishing our drainage on the back tee on #13 Devlin throughout the next week and will keep play off of that to start the spring, but it will be a vast improvement during the season as that was always an extremely wet area.  We addressed the wet area between the cart path and the men's tees on #16 Devlin, again an area that was consistently wet during the wet months of the season.

It is our goal to have the Devlin Course aerified in March, as was done over the past 3 years to ensure that our membership has the least amount of interruptions once the season starts in full swing.  The Weiskopf Course aerification is scheduled for the week of April 5th. 

Both courses have made it through the winter in great shape, I am happy with where the greens, tees and fairways are as I made my way around the property today.

Quail Hollow Country Club is a private country club situated twenty-five miles east of Cleveland with two distinct championship golf courses: the Weiskopf/Morrish Course and the Devlin/VonHagge Course.

 The seasonal position is currently open and will last through the summer. We offer flexible schedules and shifts and are willing to work around the candidate’s outside obligations. We are seeking motivated individuals interested in working outside and completing a wide variety of jobs. This position is responsible for maintaining the grounds of the clubhouse as well as preparing both courses for daily member play.  Previous golf course/landscape experience is preferred but not required; our full-time staff can and will provide detailed instruction.

We offer competitive wages with area golf courses, free golf with discounted rate for guest, crew uniforms, and monthly recognition for excellent work.
