Course conditions (1.31.20)

Good morning,        We will be experiencing some warmer temperatures this weekend. However due to the amount of snow currently on the ground and frozen turf, we will keep both golf courses closed over the weekend. We will update again on Monday.   Thanks James Dobbins

1.15.20 Frost delay

We will be under a frost delay until 11 am. We will allow walking on Devlin only (holes 1,2,3,4,5,6,9,17,18 with temporary greens). Please do not walk on any green surface.  Thanks James Dobbins 

Course Conditions (1.14.2020)

Members can walk the Devlin Course and play to the temporary greens.
Members are not to putt on any green on property as there may be frozen turf.

We ask that members do not mark teeing locations with any item; this caused wear in specific areas that will take time to recuperate in the spring.

Both courses will remain closed due excessive moisture and the risk of frozen turf.

After our initial assessment; it does not appear that we have lost any trees this past weekend during the strong winds.

Course Conditions (1.9.2020)

We will experience a warm up beginning this evening and going into this weekend.  Currently we are still snow covered and will remain closed on both courses.  We will make decisions on this weekend at a later time. With the large amount of rain that are forecasted; I am most likely inclined to keep both courses closed.

2019 Recap (Part 3)

We continue to to look at 2019:

On an average day at Quail Hollow, this staff makes its way around the property in a systematic and efficient fashion.  It is more than just "cutting grass" for this department, we work to stay ahead of play, or at least out of the way of our membership.

When it comes to mowing we accomplish the following:

Greens(a normal double cut): 10 acres

Tees:  5.2 acres

Fairways:  33.5 acres

39.7 acres mowed

This does not include our rough which we make our way through 1.5 times per week.

Additionally:

3 acres of bunkers raked

36 regulation cups changed

3 practice greens cups changed

Things truly get interesting when we discover that there is a leak in either irrigation system, a pest application needs to be made, a piece of equipment goes down or there is a sick employee.
